Marriott Hotel near Texas Motor Speedway Celebrates 20 Year Partnership with Meals on Wheels

Few hotels near Texas Motor Speedway have given back to the community as much as the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana Hotel in Westlake, TX.

For the last 20 years, this Westlake hotel has served as a central kitchen for Meals On Wheels. Between the two organizations a countless number of senior citizens have received tasty, hot meals. To celebrate this partnership’s milestone, the Marriott hotel received congratulations from Governor Rick Perry, Congressman Michael Burgess, State Senator Jane Nelson and Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes. In addition to the kind words from state representatives, the Westlake hotel also received an official commendation for its effort in serving over 115,000 meals to senior citizens in the area.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana Hotel employed some special drivers to deliver the day’s meals. Kevin Hansen, Burt Schultz, Fred Held, Don Hanby and Allan Heath got behind the wheels of vintage and unique automobiles, including a 1933 DeSoto, a supercharged Mustang, and a 1957 Chevy convertible. It’s no surprise that the senior citizens were ecstatic to see such unique vehicles arrive at their homes to deliver delicious meals.

This Marriott Westlake hotel will continue serving the community that has taken care of it since its beginning. As one of the most beloved hotels near the Texas Motor Speedway, the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana Hotel has become an integral part of the Westlake, TX community.
