An international magazine targeting 50,000 event planners has named two San Antonio Riverwalk hotels among the world’s finest meeting properties.

The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter and San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk have each earned a 2012 Gold Key Award from Meetings & Conventions magazine. Readers of M&C were the nominators and judges for the prestigious honor given to 146 domestic and 17 international hotels and resorts this year. Properties including the San Antonio, TX, hotels were judged on staff attitude, quality of meeting rooms, quality of guest services, food and beverage service, proficiency of handling reservations, availability of technical and support equipment and range of recreational facilities.

The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter has now won the award 20 times. The 1000-room hotel features 63 meeting rooms with 60,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Its largest meeting room, the Grand Ballroom, has 41,600 square feet that can seat up to 6,400 people. A newly renovated foyer with ample room for pre- or post-function activities welcomes convention goers, as do back-lit reader boards strategically placed throughout the floor. Amenities throughout all meeting spaces include state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, exceptional event menus, certified meeting coordinators and full-service tech support so that all presentations are engaging and successful.

One of the grandest structures in San Antonio, the Marriott Rivercenter also was recently included in Cvent’s top 100 list of meeting hotels in the United States.
