The Holidays Come Alive in Palm Springs with the 12 Days of Esmeralda

Festivities at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa blend the best the desert has to offer with time-honored traditions and giving back to our community

For the second year in a row, Renaissance Esmeralda Indian Wells Resort & Spa is taking holiday celebrating to a whole new level with a 12 day calendar of festivities for resort guests and the local community to enjoy alike.

In addition to a partridge in a “palm tree,” The 12 Days of Esmeralda includes:

Day 1. Story Time with Mrs. Claus (Monday, Dec. 17)
Gather around Mrs. Claus from 10 am-11 am and 3:30 pm-4:30pm at STIR Lounge for some of her best-loved stories complemented by scrumptious milk and cookies.

Day 2. Sacred Heart Choir Carolers (Tuesday, Dec. 18) Iconic sounds of the season will fill the air in the resort atrium as Sacred Heart Choir sings holiday favorites at Glo Lobby Bar from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm.

Day 3. Holiday Cookie Decorating (Wednesday, Dec. 19) Satisfy cravings for holiday goodies and leave the clean-up to us! Learn some clever tricks of the trade in cookie decorating from our very own master chef from 2 pm-4 pm at STIR Lounge. Reservations are required.

Day 4. Holiday Cocktail Class (Thursday, Dec. 20) Let our mixologists show you how to concoct cocktails filled with cider and spice and everything nice at STIR Lounge from 4 pm-5 pm. And the best part - sampling of course! Must be 21 or older; reservations are required.

Day 5. Xavier Choir Carolers (Friday, Dec. 21) Kick-off the holiday weekend with the angelic melodies of carolers from Xavier Choir at Glo Lobby Bar from 5:30 pm-6:30pm. Everyone is encouraged to join in!

Day 6. Carriage Rides (Saturday, Dec. 22) A horse-drawn carriage ride in the desert? You bet! From 12 pm-4 pm, Charles Dickens inspired carriage rides take you on a journey to Christmas festivities.

Day 7. Pancakes & Santa (Sunday, Dec. 23) Just days before his ‘big night out,’ Santa clears his schedule to spend the morning with all the little girls and boys visiting the resort. A special breakfast buffet awaits one and all at Cava Restaurant from 9 am-11am. Reservations are required and the cost is $24 for adults and $12 for children.

Day 8. Tree Trimming (Monday, Dec. 24) The tradition of tree trimming abounds in the land of paradise and palms. Experience the nostalgia of decorating ornaments and stringing popcorn while enjoying some tasty treats from 11 am-3 pm.

Day 9. Gingerbread Houses (Tuesday, Dec. 25) Adults and children alike will delight in designing gingerbread houses on Christmas Day. Enjoy a leisurely morning brunch, then join in on this highly-anticipated activity dripping with frosting and finger-licking fun from 11am-3 pm. Reservations are required.

Day 10. Roasting Chestnuts (Wednesday, Dec. 26) Chestnuts roasting on an open fire indeed! A perfect way to complement all this fabulous holiday fun is by meeting at the fire pits from 4 pm-6 pm to learn the art and enjoy the flavors.

Day 11. S’mores (Thursday, Dec. 27) S’more holiday fun is planned with S’more making from 7 pm-9 pm on the Rose Lawn.

Day 12. Eggnog Tasting (Friday, Dec. 28) Round out a truly magical time with an Eggnog tasting at Glo Lobby Lounge from 4 pm-6 pm. Reservations are required.

During the 12 Days of Esmeralda, special room rates start at $159 per night. As an added bonus, guests who donate a nonperishable food item upon check-in will be given $50 in resort credit (based per guest room to use towards spa and dining).
